During the summer of 2007, Johanna competed with fellow Tiger Alexa Anderson and head coach Charlie Wade on the USA Volleyball/Bring It Promotions Development Team. The squad played five matches throughout Argentina. Hilbers finished the season with a team-high .238 hitting percentage and was second on the Tigers with 327 kills and 88 blocks. Johanna set a career-high with 17 digs in the Tigers' 3-0 loss to Long Beach State on Nov. 18. Hilbers nabbed her third double-double of the season with 11 kills and 12 digs in Pacific's come from behind 3-2 win against UC Davis on Nov. 2. Johanna delivered one of her best all-around performances as a Tiger in Pacific's 3-2 win over UC Davis as she had 12 kills coupled with 12 digs, six assists, four aces and three block assists. Hilbers made the most of her first opportunity to play an entire rotation as she collected her first double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs in Pacific's 3-1 win over UC Riverside on Sept. 23. Johanna also delivered three service aces and two assists in the win. Hilbers nabbed her third consecutive All-Tournament Team selection at the Tigers' Asics Invitational from Sept. 15-16. Her best match of the tournament came against Yale as Johanna posted 16 kills and just three errors on 28 swings, helping Pacific to a 3-1 win on Sept. 15. Johanna earned her second consecutive All-Tournament team selection at the Michigan/Pepsi Challenge from Sept. 8-9. Johanna delivered a career-high 21 kills in the Tigers' 3-1 loss to Virginia on Sept. 8. Hours later, Hilbers nabbed a season-high seven digs and a career-high four solo blocks in Pacific's 3-1 loss to Marquette. Hilbers recorded 20 kills as she led Pacific to its first win of the season, 3-1 over Montana, on Sept. 2. The following night, Johanna slammed down 13 kills, while committing only one error in Pacific's 3-0 loss to Nevada on Sept. 3. Johanna's efforts at the Nevada/AT&T Invitational earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Hilbers also has made an impact for the Tigers on the defensive side, setting new career-highs with six block assists and seven total blocks in the Tigers' 3-0 loss to Fresno State on Aug. 26.<b>2005 (Sophomore):</b> <br>Hilbers hit the court for 89 games during the 2005 season. Johanna showed her versatility with a combined 12 digs in the Tigers' final two matches of the 2005 season, including eight digs in Pacific's 3-2 loss to Sacramento State on Nov. 25. She slammed down five kills, without an error, in the Tigers' 3-2 win over UC Irvine on Nov. 19. Johanna returned her first two collegiate block solos in the Tigers' 3-1 win over Fresno State on Sept. 14.<b>2004 (Freshman):</b> <br>Johanna started each of her first two intercollegiate matches for the Tigers and appeared in 24 of the team's 111 games during the 2004 season. Johanna came off the bench to record five kills without an error in seven attempts (.714) and add three blocks in the Tigers' sweep of Cal Poly on Oct. 28. She had an impressive intercollegiate debut, recording nine kills and five blocks against Arkansas on Sept. 3. She picked up her first career intercollegiate dig at No. 22 Santa Clara on Sept. 5.<b>High School/Club:</b> <br>Hilbers was a 2004 graduate of Marian High School in Omaha, Neb., where she was a three-sport letterwinner in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She lettered twice for the Crusaders in volleyball as a right side hitter and middle blocker, leading her team to a combined 66-17 (.795) record in her two seasons at the varsity level. As a junior, Johanna led the Marian HS volleyball team to a second place state finish, including a semifinal victory over the previously unbeaten No. 1 ranked team in the state. Johanna was named to the Nebraska All-Tournament First Team, the Nebraska Class A All-State First Team, and the Nebraska Super State Third Team during her junior campaign. As a senior, Hilbers ranked second in the state in hitting percentage (.403) and earned Nebraska Class A All-State First Team, Nebraska Super State First Team, and Omaha All-Metro First Team honors as her team's captain. She was selected to the 2004 Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Volleyball Team. At the club level, Hilbers was a member of the River City Juniors club program from 2000-04, leading her team to a second place finish at the 2004 Junior National Volleyball Tournament and earning 18 & Under American All-Tournament Team honors. As a member of the Marian HS girls' basketball team, Hilbers lettered three years and earned all-state honorable mention recognition as a senior. Off the court, Hilbers was selected to the Marian HS honor roll each of her four years.<b>Personal:</b> <br>Johanna Hilbers is the daughter of Vance and Kim Hilbers. She has one older brother, Zach (23).
